Szép időnk van... - weather is nice today...

It's said the British like to talk about weather. For me it seems the Hungarians like to talk about it much more: long minutes, often 20-30 minutes can pass and the converstaion doesn't get over the present weather fronts. If it rains too much that's the problem, if it's too warm that's the problem, if weather front is coming that's the problem. If we have to talk that's the problem if we don't have to that's the problem.

Azt mondják, az angolok szeretnek az időjárásról beszélni. Tapasztalatom azt mutatja, hogy a magyarok sokkal jobban szeretnek erről beszélni: hosszú percek, gyakran 20-30 is eltelik úgy, hogy a beszélgetés nem lép túl az éppen aktuális időjárási frontokon. Ha sokat esik az eső, az a baj, ha túl meleg van, az a baj, ha jön a front, az a baj. Ha beszélgetni kell az a baj, ha nem kell beszélni, az a baj.
