skype-olunk ma? - Are we going to skype today?

Here is this internet-tax threatening in Hungary. I mean it was. I hope. Because here is the internet. So nowadays I don't surf the internet but "do internetting". And then of course I do skype every day: I teach. And on Facebook I like my aquaintances' comments. Then I post on the blog so I'm a blogger. I speak Hungarian and "internet" with Hungarian accent...

Itt van ez a netadó-fenyegetés Magyarországon. Illetve állítólag csak volt. Remélem. Mert ugye itt van az internet. Úgyhogy ma már nem szörfölök a neten, hanem egyszerűen internetezem. Aztán persze minden nap skype-olok is: tanítok. És a Facebook-on like-olni is szoktam az ismerősök érdekes kommentjeit. Meg posztolok a blogon, vagyis blogger vagyok. Beszélek magyarul meg internetül magyar akcentussal...

Hónalj

Hónalj – armpit

If we have a 'hónalj' (bottom of hón) where is the 'hón'? I mean exactly? But really! How is that the leg has a head the 'lábfej' (foot)?

Usually we have 2 eyes, legs, hands, shoulders, ears. Why do we snub (take it on half shoulder – in Hung) this? If we don't have one we talk about half eye, hand, shoulder, leg...

Pair means one. One means half – the Hungarian logic.

Ha van hónaljunk, hol van a hónunk? Mármint pontosan? De tényleg! Hogyan lehet a lábnak feje a lábfej?

Az embernek általában két szeme, lába, keze, füle, válla van. Miért vesszünk mi ezt félvállról? Mert ha egy nincs, akkor már csak fél szemről, kézről, vállról, lábról beszélünk...

A pár az egy, az egy az fél – a magyar logika.

telefonfülke, próbafülke, szavazófülke

telefonfülke – telephone box, próbafülke - fitting room, szavazófülke - voting/polling booth

In the telephone box we phone, in the fitting room we try on clothes (or at least we try to try on) and in the polling/voting booth we vote (or try to vote) – this and that they are all 'fülke' in Hungarian.

A telefonfülkében telefonálunk, a próbafülkében próbálunk (vagy próbálunk próbálni) és a szavazófülkében szavazunk (vagy szavazni próbálunk) – ez is az is 'fülke' magyarul.
